Dear ACAA Members,

You are invited to participate in a research project examining the Job-seeking experiences of Australia- and New Zealand- trained Chinese accounting graduates.

If you were an international student enrolled in a university in Australia or New Zealand and graduated from an accounting degree (undergraduate/ postgraduate) between 2012 and 2016 (inclusive), you will be able to assist us in this research project.

By participating, your feedback will help inform higher education providers in Australia and New Zealand of the factors impacting accounting graduate employment outcomes in China.

The survey will take between 15 and 20 minutes to complete depending on your responses. You can withdraw from the survey at any time. The study is led by Victoria University and is supported by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). The study has ethics approval with relevant contact details appearing at the end of the survey.

You are welcome to get in touch with

Dr. Riccardo Natoli ( or Miss Ming Song ( if you have any questions regarding this research project. Please note that the privacy of participants is protected.

Below is the link to the survey.

We look forward to your participation in this survey.

December Greetings!

The end of 2017 is fast approaching and it has been another great year for the ACAA!

Over the last year we have hosted 17 events, offered support to 19 alumni events and helped promoted 61 events.  Hereby, we would like to express our appreciation to all Australian university partners, corporate and strategic partners, Australian governments and last but not the least, our Australian alumni, for all the support.

In 2018, we have many exciting plans and projects coming up so please stay tuned!

Happy New Year!

Deakin University Alumni Event in Beijng & Shanghai
December 2017

Earlier this month Deakin University hosted two alumni events in China: one in Beijing and one in Shanghai. These events were a great way of celebrating the year that was and helping alumni connect with their peers and the University.

These events were led by the committees and both of the Chapters have flourished in 2017. The role of the chapter committees in developing a meaningful engagement program for the alumni cohort is an important one. Rather than focussing on the number of events being run, there is an emphasis on the development of meaningful opportunities. Each of the committees are working towards providing opportunities with relevant outcomes, including the learning of new skills for practical application in a professional career.

From the University’s perspective, engaging with alumni is integral to building strong relationships with China. Deakin University aims to provide quality graduate employment opportunities for alumni returning home, but also a welcoming network of peers that can be turned to for support and guidance.

In 2018, Deakin University will be continuing to provide opportunities for alumni in China to connect. If you are a Deakin graduate living in China and you would like to find out how you can get involved, please email
