2019 ACAA Welcome Back Receptions

The Welcome Back Reception series is one of the ACAA’s recurring annual events hosted in China’s three largest cities and possibly other cities across China. These events welcome recent graduates from Australia returning to China.

Not only is this a fantastic chance for you to meet with other recent graduates and share experiences, but also a valuable opportunity to hear about recent trends and upcoming hot industries and career paths options in your city. You can meet with established alumni to hear their useful advice and learn about how the ACAA can support your life and career in China.

December Greetings!

The end of 2018 is approaching, and it has been another excellent year for the ACAA!

Over the last year, we have hosted 21 events, offered support to 31 alumni events and helped promote 49 events. We were especially delighted to see the huge success of the 10th Australia China Alumni Awards! As such, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of our Australian university partners, corporate and strategic partners, Australian government partners and last but not least, our Australian alumni, for all the amazing support you’ve given us – without you we couldn’t have done it!

In 2019 we will promote even more exciting events and projects for our alumni across Australia and China, so please stay tuned!

Happy New Year!

The ACAA Team

Your Guide to Study Abroad Program
8th December 2018
At the beginning of this month, the ACAA was delighted to be invited to the Radio Beijing Corporation‘s (北京人民广播电台) Your Guide to Study Abroad Program. A mentee of the ACAA mentor program, Christina Liu, who is an alumna of UNSW, also joined the broadcast. It is fantastic to see the growth of the ACAA recognised, and we are excited to support even more alumni in the coming years.
Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival
10th to 13th December 2018

Powerful, shocking, heartbreaking, and intense documentaries expanded the horizons of viewers and encouraged them to learn more about the world from the 10th to the 13th of December, as four Australian documentaries were broadcast as part of the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival. The ACAA was delighted to be invited by the Australian Consulate General in Guangzhou to watch the MOUNTAIN, a special documentary using music as narration, rather than mere words or story-telling.

Peaks were places of peril, not beauty.

Secrets to Success for Start-ups and Entrepreneurs
in Shanghai
12th December 2018
The ACAA was invited to join an expert panel discussion on the “Secrets to Success for Start-ups and Entrepreneurs in Shanghai”, hosted by the Australian Consulate General in Shanghai. The panel discussion explored the knowledge, skills and practices needed to overcome market challenges as a start-up, and how to succeed with an entrepreneurial mindset in Shanghai's competitive international market.
The ACAA Christmas Party in Beijing
14th December 2018
Winter is not just a season, it’s also a celebration! This year, the ACAA hosted fantastic Christmas Parties in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Kunming, from the north to the south, and from the east to the west. As the first of the ACAA Christmas Party series, the Beijing alumni Christmas party drew a lot of attention, and it was fantastic to sit with our friends, old and new, to celebrate Christmas.
ACAA Christmas Party in Shanghai
15th December 2018
The ACAA would love to be Santa Claus for all our alumni every Christmas Day! We were thrilled to see so many alumni join our Christmas party in Shanghai on the 15th of December, as well as to meet some ‘future alumni’.
ACAA Christmas Party in Guangzhou
15th December 2018
For the ACAA, all of our alumni are just like family. On the same day as the ACAA Shanghai Christmas party, many alumni also attended our Christmas party in Guangzhou. It was a great time to chill out with our alumni and celebrate the end of 2018 together.
ACAA Christmas Party in Kunming
22nd December 2018
As December drew to a close, we were delighted to celebrate Christmas with our alumni in Kunming. Thanks to TAETEA’s support, we hosted a wonderfully elegant Christmas party in Southwest China. The tea art performance showcased Yunnan’s tea culture, and the many interesting stories of studying in Australia shared by our alumni made for an exciting party.
