October Greetings

ACAA 十月祝语

This month saw two great alumni reunion and engagement events: the Monash Education Faculty alumni reception took place in Shanghai and the MBA Information Session from the University of Melbourne happened  in Shanghai and Beijing.

Apart from offline events, we are delighted to see our alumni actively engaged on ACAA's social media platform, especially in the WeChat Groups. As the premier Australian university alumni engagement platform in China, ACAA Connect continues to support and encourage local alumni engagement and development.

Alumni Profile

Ms. Gracie Tang

Macquarie University

& University of Sydney Alumna

Currently Gracie is the Manager of  Credit Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Governance at ANZ China and is based in Shanghai.

Gracie’s connection with Australia started about 10 years ago when she started her Master's program of Translation and Interpreting at Macquarie University. Upon graduation and given her financial undergraduate background in China, she decided to take a Graduate Commerce Certificate program at the University of Sydney.

At the beginning of her career, she chose to start as a Simultaneous Interpreter in Finance Industry (PingAn Consumer Finance in 2009 and ANZ-SRCB Partnership in 2011) where she saw the application of both her financial and linguistic skillsets. However, in order to develop her banking expertise, she began  a supporting role to the Senior Risk Advisor of the team for Risk projects and Risk Committees, and participated in training to become a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

In early 2015 Gracie commenced her job rotation development across various departments (Operational Risk, Credit Risk, and Institutional Banking Research & Analysis) at ANZ China.

An exciting opportunity was later provided to Gracie – Credit Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Governance. Taking this job marked her full transition to the field of Risk Management and another important step in her career path.
